Google Cloud Trusted Tester Program | Helpful Google AI Resources

Introduction

Hello from the Google Cloud AI Trusted Tester program! We are excited to share some valuable resources to help you build with generative AI on Google Cloud. These resources will deepen your knowledge of our latest AI technologies as you put them to work. Let’s dive in!

Gemini 1.0 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Pro

Recently, we announced the general availability of Gemini 1.0 Pro, our best model for scaling across AI tasks, to all Vertex AI customers. This means that any developer can now start building with Gemini Pro in production. Additionally, we introduced Gemini 1.5, a new generation of models that offer improved performance on a more efficient architecture. Gemini 1.5 Pro, which is currently in private preview on Vertex AI, is a mid-size multimodal model optimized for scaling across a wide range of tasks. It performs at a similar level to 1.0 Ultra, our largest model to date, and boasts the longest context window of any large-scale foundation model yet. You can find more details in the announcement.

Gemma: Google’s New Family of Open Models

We are thrilled to announce the availability of Gemma, Google’s new family of open models, on Google Cloud. Gemma models leverage the technical and infrastructure components of our Gemini models to achieve best-in-class performance for their sizes when compared to other open models in their class. You can download, train, and serve Gemma models directly from Vertex AI Model Garden. In our recent announcement, we released two sizes of Gemma models: Gemma 2B and Gemma 7B. To learn more about these models, visit the announcement.
